Communion and Confirmation days are very special milestones in any young person’s life. We know that all the children in Rolestown will celebrate their day very soon…but it did take some of the staff down memory lane!! Has your teacher or S.N.A. changed or do they look the exact same? Enjoy your bank holiday weekend 🙂
Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and me!!! The proud moment
My dad and I had just completed 14 km cycling , since we were aiming for 20km, when we met Taoiseach Leo Varadkar on Acres Road in the phoenix park this Saturday. He was with his partner Matt. They were both jogging.
It was so amazing that while I had a nice walk & talk with Taoiseach keeping in mind physical distancing, Matt was taking pictures from my phone!!!
Taoiseach asked my name, the school and the class I am in, I replied “Yash, Rolestown National School and 6th class.” I was so happy when Leo said “Rolestown School is very nice.”
I told him about the sixth class graduation problem and requested to arrange something for 6th class and Leo said they are looking into it, but kid’s health is the top priority.
Leo also said it’s so good to see people taking care of their health.
A snapshot of some of the work 6th class have been doing at home! A very creative bunch!
Lizzie Troup in 6th class recently contributed a lovely line to Poetry Ireland about the current times for 5th and 6th class students entitled There will be Time without Measure. President Higgins wrote the opening and closing verses and it will now be buried in the Garden of Remembrance in a time capsule to commemorate 2020. Lizzie’s line was Days blend together but the daisies still grow.
Well done Lizzie, a great achievement and we are very proud of you in Rolestown N.S.
